Now in my 48 th year of tying, my experience in tying the many fly patterns that come off my vice, using the only the best of best materials will lead to a tier producing quality strong flies. Textreme are two companies that ensure the tier has those products that are not only in the highest of quality, but also ensures a wide range of threads, flosses, tinsels and other products that tiers look for, that most other companies have omitted in their product line.As a tier, I started tying only trout flies as a young lad of 12 yrs old and then quickly took up tying hairwing salmon flies, so that I could fish for salmon. After a decade and a half of tying these types of flies, I started exploring how to tie full dressed salmon flies. The tying of full dressed salmon flies allowed my imagination to run wild in my creativity, as I started to tie freestyle salmon flies. Most of the full dressed/freestyle salmon were tied as display flies, and are featured in different magazine articles and books, as well as online venues. I have branched off to tying different styles of predator flies for salt and fresh water. These predator flies are of the hollow flies/deceivers, made with natural hair and flash.
