Gabriele "Cap" Zingaro
I have been fly fishing exclusively for many years by choice, but I have been a fisherman for thirty years and have practiced many techniques. I started tying flies right away, getting passionate about both fishing and tying artificial flies. I am a blogger and YouTuber, very active on social media, and for over ten years, I have collaborated with magazines, thematic channels, and some of the most important Italian and global companies, with whom I work as a promoter and consultant for product development, not neglecting the fishing guide service during the best season. I organize fishing and fly tying courses and workshops throughout Italy and especially in Rome, where I live and have my base for my travels. I participate periodically in both fly fishing and fly tying competitions, with good results even at the European level. I like to catch trout, but I don’t disdain fishing for pike and other predators, even in saltwater; I have traveled a lot in the world to increase my experience and I like to confront myself with new situations in rivers and lakes to improve myself as a fisherman. At the tying bench, I mix synthetic with natural materials in the pursuit of simplicity and maximum effectiveness in fishing, while on the river, I switch from nymph to dry fly without forgetting the streamer with extreme ease, trying to interpret the situations that require a different technique from time to time. I love fly fishing, and despite collecting many outings during the year, every time I catch and release a fish, I get excited as if it were the first…this gives me the right energy to always strive for results that can gratify me. My nickname “Cap,” by which I am known in the industry, comes from the fact that several years ago, I obtained the title of “IGFA Captain,” which led friends and acquaintances to call me that over time. I love to share my passion for this sport, and if I can, I try to confront myself with fishermen who are more or less experienced than me because I think there is always something to learn.

Luca Barosselli
Since I was a child, I have practiced various fishing techniques, and in 2010 I approached fly fishing. The bond with this discipline was very strong, becoming my true and only passion. A year later, thanks to the help of some veterans, I approached fly tying, trying my hand at tying classic and modern flies. With dedication and the right advice, I always try to improve, acquiring new knowledge and refining my tying technique. All this pushed me further into this magical world, in particular towards the Italian style, better known as “Italian style,” born from the great pioneer Francesco Palù. I collaborate with my casting instructor Massimo Magliocco, following the part of fly tying in various articles published in magazines. I am a member of the “Fly Fishing 360” group. In 2015, I tied with my friend Diego Riggi at the Forlì fair for “Dressing Italiano,” also attending the Vicenza fair in 2016 at the “Fly fishing 360” corner. The following year, I was also at the Pescare Show of the aforementioned fair, as a tyer at the “Fly Tying Experience,” thanks to Fabio Federighi, my mentor and friend. In this edition, I received the annual award from the magazine “La Pesca mosca e spinning,” sponsored by “Stonfo.” Later, I joined the pro team “Gulff,” where I established a collaboration with several international tyers. I am also part of the “Greygoose” Club of Bereguardo, where I meet with friends periodically to share our passion. My flies range from traditional to more modern ones, using every type of material without limitations of any kind. I frequent Italian and foreign rivers, rich in pitfalls and difficulties, where I test my flies to the best of my ability. I am aware that I am only at the beginning of a long and difficult journey, confident of growing professionally with training and dedication.

Mauro Borselli
I fly fish and build since 1984, I have been self-taught and from the beginning, while not neglecting traditional fly fishing, I wanted to use this technique also in rivers, canals and water mirrors of the plain to catch Black Bass, Pike, Royal Perch and Cavedani. To this end, I created X Flies that reflect this “Alternative” vision of PAM that for about fifteen years I have also extended to Catfishes, Asps, Lucio Perca and Carps. This special fishing path has also led me to compare myself with Salt Waters fishing in “Alternative Fly Fishing” also Sea Bass, Serra, Barracuda, Alletterati, Sharks, Cefali & Company. My trademark is the design and construction of new imitations aimed at catching any species of fish and this thanks to observation and study of what happens in water. Over the last thirty years I have collaborated for various companies in the sector, Fly Fishing magazines, thematic television channels, participating in many Fly Tying competitions as a judge.

Cristian Caruso
It all began at the age of 11 when a great person whom I still call “the great Roby” showed me the world of fly fishing for the first time. Everything was unknown to me, from casting techniques to fly tying. It was magical, just as magical to me as seeing those lines swinging in the air, intent on casting flies, and the tying of artificial flies. The first attempts at casting, the first attempts at fly tying (unwatchable but never suffocating my desire to keep trying), and the first catch! My first catch. What can I say, I was trembling and incredulous that I had succeeded with my own imitation, it sent me to cloud nine…I could hardly believe it had really happened! So I fell in love with fly fishing, I started to study it in the best way and especially in the smallest details. As I grew up, I always tried to improve, but above all, I never stopped learning, because you know, in life, you never stop learning and there is always something new and special around the corner that enriches our personal baggage. Whenever I could, I always tried to run to the river to disconnect from the whole world and enter mine, that of fishing. This passion, which I have cultivated well over the years, has allowed me to start writing for some fishing magazines, something that is truly gratifying for me, having realized a dream I had since I was a child. I also offer the service of “fishing guide” in my area, accompanying people trying to convey what still remains for me a magical world!

Paolo Ceccon
“I am 37 years old, born in Italy, and in 2016, I became a Swedish citizen. I have been living in Gothenburg with my wife and son for 11 years now. For the past two years, I have been part of the Swedish National Fly Fishing team and have participated in the 2017 World Championship in Slovakia and the 2018 Championship in Italy. In 2019, I will be participating in the European Championship in Montenegro.
I started fly fishing and tying flies when I was 14 years old, thanks to my father’s teachings. I mainly fish in the Alpine streams of the province of Turin, and since then, I have fallen in love with this ancient yet innovative fishing technique. I mostly tie competition nymphs, streamers, and dry flies, but I also enjoy tying streamers for pike and sea trout, given their abundance in Sweden. The beauty of fly fishing is that you never stop learning!”

Charles Jardine
We are delighted to announce the latest member of the Textreme Team: Charles Jardine. Charles requires little by way of introduction. With a global career in fly-fishing spanning some 50years, Charles is one of the most well-known and respected figures in the Fly-fishing World. As a talented artist, writer, casting instructor, flytier and coach to the England Youth Team, he is also one of the busiest men in the business! Like all our team members, Charles shares a great passion for fly-tying, and we are looking forward to working with him.

Christian Kirchermeier
Hey my Name is Christian Kirchermeier from Bavaria in Germany.
I am in the mid 30s. I start flytying in my youth, but didn’t find the right motivation to keep doing it.
After many years of not do any Flyfishing or tying I start again around 7-8 years back now.
I love tying small flies for Trout and Greyling.
Even more I love catching them.

Dimitri Repele
I started fishing as a young boy with periods of ups and downs, trying out all kinds of techniques, until I finally arrived at the magical fly fishing that captured me immediately. Over the years, I have built practically all types of flies, from classic dry flies to nymphs and wet flies, but my passion remains building streamers. Currently, I am the president of the Brescia fly fishing club.

Marco Clari
I started fishing as a child with my father and grandfather, especially in the large river of the valley, and later I tried other techniques. About ten years ago, thanks to a friend who gave me a fly rod and reel as a gift, I wanted to try this fantastic technique and became fascinated to the point of never turning back and choosing it as my only fishing technique. I started fishing with dry flies, but since I mostly frequented alpine streams where dry fly fishing is only productive for a few months each year, I decided to use nymphs depending on the conditions of the various streams. After learning the casting technique correctly, I started practicing the so-called “Alternative Flyfishing”, that is, fishing for many species of fish both in freshwater and in the sea. A few years after entering the world of fly fishing, I started tying flies, initially with the guidance of my great friend and tyer Fulvio Michelotti, whom I will never stop thanking. I started tying classic, American and European dry flies, which I used in streams throughout Piedmont. Later, with the advent of new tying techniques and materials, I started varying my tying style by using new materials in the best possible way, but always respecting the tying canons. I like to test and always try to improve my imitations, which I continue to experiment with in various rivers and streams in Italy and occasionally on fishing vacations abroad. Where fishing pressure is very high, catches are never guaranteed and imitations are put to the test, which motivates me to continue experimenting and modifying the dressings. Since 2016, I have been part of the Dressing section of Flyfishing360, and in 2017, I tied flies in their Flytying Corner at the Vicenza fair. In the following years, I participated in the Fly Tying Experience, a group of passionate tyers who participate in fly fishing events and fairs.

Oscar Hernández Moure
My name is Oscar Hernandez Moure, I was born in Spain in 1973 and I live in the north, in a wonderful region called Ribeira Sacra, where at the age of six, I started fishing with my father. In the late 90s, I discovered fly fishing, fascinated by the artificial flies I saw in shops and specialized magazines. It was at that time when I started tying my first flies, mainly caddis larvae and León-style wet flies. Eager to learn in this new world for me, I started competing, where I had the fortune to share river hours with great fishermen and even better people. It was here, in competition, where my vision in fly tying would change forever. I like all tying styles, but my obsession is efficiency and minimalism above all things. Through my blog and social networks, I have shared my patterns, lucky enough to meet great fishermen from different countries who have shown interest in my nymphs and helped me test everything I do. I am delighted to become part of the Textreme Team and I hope I can give my best contribute.

Martin Westbeek
I’m an avid fly fisherman and fly tier, who loves to fish for trout, sea trout and grayling. I started tying in the 80s, won prizes at some fly tying competitions, and started to tie at shows and demos. Meanwhile I was been a regular tier at shows in Britain, Germany, Denmark, Belgium and Holland. I also tied flies at shows in the USA, Italy and Sweden, and I do demonstrations at clubs and flyshops. I’m a member of the Whiting, Daiichi and Swiss CDC Pro Teams. My flies appeared in books, such as the Leeson/Schollmeyer book ‘Tying Emergers’ and the Takahshi book ‘Modern Midges’. Some of my flies are part of the Master’s Collection of the Catskills Fly Fishing Museum in the USA.

Peter Steen
I’ve lived in the Salt Lake valley in Utah for over 25 years, but only started fly fishing about 8 years ago. I fish high elevation streams and lakes throughout Utah and the surrounding states primarily for trout and the occasional grayling. My fly tying focuses on dry flies, small nymphs, and stillwater patterns. I enjoy combining natural and synthetic materials to create artistic yet functional patterns attractive to both fish and the flyfisher.

Jarid Church
My name is Jarid Church and I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina. As a young kid, I spent a lot of my time fishing. I made a natural progression into fly fishing when I was about 15 years old. Shorty after taking up fly fishing, I became interested in fly tying. It wasn’t until I joined social media in 2015 that I really began to take it more serious. I started tying outside my comfort zone and trying to improve, not only in my tying, but my photography as well. I primarily fish for trout, but enjoy chasing largemouth bass too.

Wes Penny
As a young boy, the love of fishing was instilled in me around the rivers of Kitimat, BC with abundant opportunities to fish for trout and salmon. Unfortunately life’s circumstances kept me away from fishing for many years but about 16 years ago I was re-introduced to fishing, and specifically to fly fishing and I have not looked back. I enjoy the rivers and streams of Vancouver Island but my first love is stillwater, especially the lakes in the Thompson, Okanagan, and Cariboo regions of British Columbia. I have spent the past six years at Douglas Lake Ranch assisting in it’s unique stillwater fly fishing opportunities and will be returning in the spring of 2021 to manage Stoney Lake Lodge, Minnie Lake, and other fishing/camping locations on Canada’s largest working cattle ranch. I have become a passionate fly tier, influenced by my stillwater experience, and always looking for new and different ideas and techniques. I am excited to be a part of the Textreme team and look forward to sharing the exciting materials with you.

Guillermo Lopez
My name is Guillermo López, I am 33 years old, I grew up in Temuco, a city in southern Chile, destiny brought me to Panguipulli, where I currently live with my family. Panguipulli is a mountain town where wild nature reigns, the perfect place for a person like me. It is known as the route of the seven lakes, this allows me to enjoy privileged places for fishing, leave home and in a few minutes be connected to the river is priceless. I’m a lucky man.
Since childhood I always enjoyed fishing, it was one of my favorite pastimes, today I can say that fly fishing has become my lifestyle. The tying of flies represents my passion and work, in which I have invested long hours of study and years perfecting my knowledge and techniques. I spend my days sitting next to the press, tying and reviewing every moment by the river, anxiously waiting for the moment when I can be back in the water.
Currently I have managed to be part of the professional teams of Textreme, Gulff and Dohiku. I have my own brand which is called “Guille López Flies”, in which I expose through my social networks the different fly patterns, tying techniques and entomology. I consider myself a versatile tyer, tying from classic flies to modern flies. My goal is always to continue growing as a fisherman and fly binder, to become a great reference in my country. My goal is to enhance and inculcate fly fishing, delivering knowledge, skills and competencies for those who want to enter this wonderful adventure.
One of my references is Ruben Martin, in which I could find inspiration. I was fortunate to participate and learn from your knowledge, which impelled me to be who I am. Like my great friend Luciano Tomas Bacci who has supported me since the beginning of my career as a binder.

Luigi Pietrosino
My name is Luigi Pietrosino. I come from the province of Foggia but I consider myself a resident of Biella. I am an avid fly fisherman. I was introduced to fishing as a child thanks to my father’s passion for the specialty. From him, I learned various techniques, both in freshwater and saltwater, and above all, I assimilated the love for this fantastic world. Even as a child, I avidly read magazines, seeking useful advice to improve my technique and admiring photos of flies with tying instructions. When I tried fly fishing 26 years ago, I was immediately fascinated, and since then, I have passionately dedicated myself exclusively to this technique, which I consider an art and a way of life. The transition from amateur fishing to competitive fishing was somewhat accidental. Initially, I participated in social competitions, more for fun than for competition, but something clicked in me almost immediately, which later turned into a great passion for competitions. My competitive journey was anything but easy, but with total tenacity and dedication, I participated in my first Italian Championships and then the Club Azzurro, and finally joining the Italian National Fly Fishing Team with which I won the team bronze medal at the 2018 World Championships held in Trentino Alto Adige at Comano Terme. Over the years, I have achieved 21 podium finishes at the Italian Championships in various disciplines, lake and river, individual, pairs, and teams, including 10 Italian titles (2 individual, 2 pairs, and 6 team titles), 7 second-place finishes (1 individual, 5 team, and 1 pairs) and 4 third-place individual finishes. Many challenges still await me in fishing as well as in life, but I will face them with the same tenacity and dedication because the winner is simply a dreamer who never gave up (N. Mandela quote).

Frank Brassard
My name is Frank Brassard, I’m based in the heart of the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada. When I’m not chasing trout, grayling, pike, or salmon, I’m tying flies to catch them. I’ve discovered fishing later in life. After many years of high adrenaline sports such as rock-climbing, ice climbing, skiing, and mountain biking, flyfishing became my way to continue to discover new places and to be in nature.
I have a tendency to fully dive into new hobbies, which consequently lead me to fly-tying. I now tie flies on a daily basis. It’s a creative outlet that flirts with meditation and relaxation. This is becoming a lifelong process of learning new techniques and experimenting with new products. Partnering up with Textreme is an important step in that learning process.

Vladimir Glamocak
My name is Vladimir Glamocak. I live in Novi Sad, Serbia. Fly tying and Fly fishing are my great passion. I fish in European waters, from Northern Sweden, Norway to the Northern Republic of Macedonia. My favorite rivers are located in Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia.
I am a member of the SWISSCDC, GULFF and RENOMED Pro team.

Sasa Benkun Roko
Hello everyone, My name is Sasa Bencun Roko, but many people call me “Roka”. I live in Valjevo, Serbia, just 11 kilometers away from Gradac, and I am the owner of a lodge on the river. I am married and have a daughter who is also passionate about fly fishing. When I was young, I made my first flies without specific tools because they were hard to find. I love studying aquatic insects and their life cycle, drawing inspiration from my river (Gradac) and mixing natural products with synthetic products made by Textreme. For many years, I have been part of the Regal Vise team and a promoter for Dohiku hooks. I am very happy to improve and share my experience with the Textreme Team because I love their innovative products for fly tying. My fly tying qualification is mainly related to dry flies, emergers, and nymphs, but I also enjoy dedicating myself to realistic flies. Sometimes, I participate in international fly tying competitions (for example, in Slovenia and Croatia) and have won the highest awards in the last 12 years, such as first place in the Mustad competition in the realistic category with the “Ecdyonurus metamorphosis” in Norway in 2011 and second place in the same year in a realistic category with a grasshopper in Germany. I own the first fly fishing center in Serbia, which offers accommodation, river guiding, fly fishing school, fly-tying, and fly fishing for all. I am very happy to join the Textreme Team!

John Maduro
“Hi, I’m John Maduro originally from Aruba, a Dutch Caribbean island. I’ve been saltwater fishing all my life.
It was only when I moved to Ireland 22 years ago that I was introduced to Fly Fishing and fell in love with this amazing fishing method. Since catching my first trout on a Bibio I was hooked for life.
I was amazed by the work of art of the Fly Patterns and I knew it was something I would love to learn. I invested on my first Fly tying vice and a Veniard Flytying kit, from there I started practising for countless hours by watching all these amazing Fly dressers on Youtube and following the step by step tutorials from the Fly-Tying Bible (great book for any beginner).
I fished rivers and lakes for many years here in Ireland but the Salt always called me back so I decided to give the Saltwater Fly Fishing a try. Once I hooked my first Bass on the fly there was no going back from it. From there I started tying Saltwater patterns which I now specialise in these days. Species I mainly target are Bass, Seatrout, Pollock but to be honest any species I can catch on the coast with a fly.
Some of my favourite patterns would be Flat Wings, Baitfish and Shrimp patterns, I love tying and fishing these as they are very effective and let’s not forget the Clouser Minnows which I tie by adding some flat wings to it.
I’m a Pro Team member of a few well-known brands here in Europe and America, for more info regarding the teams I am on, feel free to browse on my social media pages.
Like I always say: Quality Materials equals Quality Flies.”

Cristian Ottonetti
I am a 40-year-old Italian fly fisherman and tyer, currently working in Switzerland as an architect. I have been practicing fly fishing since the late 90s and for many years I have been involved in fly fishing competitions, where I have achieved several placements. The most important one was certainly the victory of the Italian championship in pairs, in 2013, the same year in which, for various reasons, I also decided to stop competing in fishing competitions. I am a member, committee member, and responsible for the fly tying courses of the Club Pescatori a Mosca Ticino, and I am also a member of SIM Suisse. Due to my work, I spend a lot of time in Swiss territory, so my fishing trips are mainly focused on these environments. I consider myself a very flexible builder, who easily switches from large pike streamers to small size 20 dry flies, passing through nymphs and sub-surface patterns.

Gianluca Capizzi
I am Gianluca Capizzi and I was born in Cortona, Tuscany in 1976. I have been fly fishing since 1995, mainly for grayling and trout. I love dry fly fishing but I practice all techniques. A few years ago, I became passionate about fly tying and in 2019 I participated in and won the 16th Bisenzio Trophy. I am a part of the Pro Team Ahrex and Gulff Fly Fishing. It is with great pleasure that I join the Textreme team and I hope to be able to contribute! Thank you for your trust!
