Top-quality flor cork with 5mm-wide rings. The diameter is the smallest achievable, optimized for unmatched feedback transmission, with the feel of a traditional material.

Carbon Grip

Synthetic material wrapped in pure carbon fabric. The diameter is the minimum achievable. It is the ultimate in vibration transmission. The fabric does not absorb water.

Eva Grip

A material that combines the characteristics of cork and carbon. It offers unmatched comfort and sensitivity during the fishing action.

Accessories and Details

Reel Seat: Alps mounted in downlock to shift the center of gravity back and maximize the initial grip area.

Butt: Made of rot-proof rubberized cork, designed as a small fighting butt and rod protection.

Tube: Made of pure carbon treated with a transparent finish that highlights the weave. Brunished aluminum caps, the upper one threaded.

Sleeve: Made of smooth cotton with four compartments and closure ties. Also suitable for holding the complete set of tips.

Maintaining Your Under Zero

Before assembling the rod sections, if you are using a Solid Tip, first extend its section, taking care to align the guides between the fixed and sliding parts.

During fishing, avoid sharp angles at the Solid Tip during fighting or netting. In case of snag, pull the fly free by pulling from the handle with the rod perfectly aligned with the fly.

After the fishing session, retrieve the line-leader-tippet gently. Disassemble the sections by pulling them apart longitudinally without twisting. Always close the Solid Tip before storing the rod.

Let the rod and sleeve air dry in the shade. Once a month, clean with warm water and mild soap. Apply a very light layer of vaseline on the male ferrule to preserve the joints.

What is the Solid Tip?

The Solid Tip was conceived by Rod Garage in 2017, inspired by suggestions from anglers seeking ever more extreme performance and sensitivity.

It consists of inserting a special solid carbon tip inside the base of the original tubular tip section. This makes the terminal part of the rod extremely flexible and sensitive, perfect for managing thin tippets for fishing with small artificials.

Sensitivity increases significantly thanks to the solid carbon, which offers superior vibration transmission compared to the original tubular tip, while maintaining excellent casting precision.

Available in three versions: L (light) / UL (ultra light) / XUL (extra ultra light).

The Story of Rod Garage

Rod Garage was founded in September 2014 from Enrico Nicoletti's passion for rod building.

"As an enthusiast, I started from scratch, slowly learning the secrets and many facets of fishing rod assembly. Initially, my work was aimed at improving, customizing, and modifying my own personal equipment, but right away I noticed the interest of some friends who, with their subsequent customization requests, convinced me to dedicate myself and fully immerse myself in this world of carbon, cork rings, colored threads, and resins."

"The Under Zero project was born in collaboration with Textreme. After carefully analyzing the actions of the blanks from the Spanish manufacturer Maxia Rods, we proceeded with fine-tuning until we reached the definitive solution. Two rods, four tips, eight different actions. 100% Made in Europe and 100% designed in Italy!"
